Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal  said his team “gave away” the chance to solidify a chance at a top-four finish on Tuesday as it crashed to a 3-2 defeat at West Ham Unitedafter leading 2-1 with 15 minutes left.

On Man United’s chances of finishing in the top four for a Champions League spot next season, Van Gaal said, “I think it is still possible but it is not inour hands and that is the difference. It is very disappointing because we were ahead. We gave it away because of the set plays.”

Manchester City now has a two point lead over Manchester Unitedand a superior goal difference going into the last weekend of EPL play. Manchester City faces Swansea City while Manchester United meets Bournemouth on Sunday.
