By appealing Wayne Rooney’s two-game ban by the English FA for swearing into a TV camera after scoring against West Ham, Manchester United risks losing Rooney to a three-gamesuspension.
Tottenham coach Harry Redknapp said:
“The charge is fair enough. I don’t remember Bobby Charlton doing that when hescored, or Jimmy Greaves. I don’t know why some of these young footballers are so angry with the world. They get hundreds of thousands of pounds a week. I respect him greatly asa player, but he is a silly boy for what h e did. I don’t know why hedid it.”
