[VIRGINIA-PENN STATE] Maya Hayes scored her 11th and 12th goals of the season for her four multi-goal game in the lastsix matches to lead No. 25 Penn State to a 3-2 win over No. 10 Virginia at the Virginia Nike Classic. It was the Cavs’ first loss in eight games.

“It was an interesting game,” said Virginia coach Steve Swanson. “It is hard to assess our performance. We started well,and then we let them back into the game, twice. Their first and third goals were against the run of play and a result of our errors. The loss doesn’t sit well with us, but it is certainly achance to learn from our mistakes.”
