Jose Mourinho singled out Cesc Fabregas for praise following the Spanish midfielder’s man-of-the-match performance in Chelsea’s 3-1 win in Tuesday’s League Cupquarterfinal against Derby County at Pride Park. Fabregas created the Blues’ first and third goals, scored by Eden Hazard and Andre Schurrle, respectively, while Felipe Luisnetted his first Chelsea goal from a free-kick, in-between.

“[Fabregas is] playing so well for us and what I like especially – more than his quality – is the person,”Mourinho said. “He’s a professional. A big player like him, a world champion, coming here to play a Capital One Cup match and play the way he did – this is the kind of attitude Iwant from my players.”

The Portuguese noted that Pride Park is a difficult place to come to. “All of [my players] were very professional so I’m so, so happy with that, because sometimes people don’t realize how difficult it is to play against Championship teams.”
