The NWSL’s Disciplinary Committee suspended Seattle Reign FC defender Merritt Mathias for three matches and fined her an undisclosed amount for an an incident involving Portland’s EmilySonnett. It’s believed to be the longest suspension handed down after the fact in the league’s five seasons.
