Frankfurt prosecutors searched the headquarters of the German soccer federation (DFB) on Wednesday for evidence of alleged corruption in the granting of FIFA player agent licenses. The stateprosecutor’s office said it is investigating an allegation of bribery during the application process for a license, following accusations in Kicker magazine on Oct. 25, 2010.

Kickersaid one of its reporters was given the answers to exam questions through a middleman by text message before the test to become a FIFA agent, following a payment of $2,600 at the end of September,2010.

“We can confirm that the DFB informed the Frankfurt prosecutor today about the processes for a FIFA player’s agent examination,” DFB spokesman RalfKoettker. “The proceedings are not against the DFB, (but) the authorities are investigating unnamed persons. The DFB will of course assist the prosecutor with the ongoing investigationas a witness.”
