[WOMEN’S COLLEGE CUP] For only the third time, the NCAA Division I women’s championship will be played on the West Coast when the University of San Diego willhost of the 2012 Women’s College Cup.

The finals will take place Nov. 30 and Dec. 2 at Torero Stadium and will be the first NCAA Division I national championship to be held on theUSD campus.
 
The last eight College Cups have been held at Texas A&M or in Cary, N.C. The 2011 finals will be held at Kennesaw State in Georgia.

Portland hosted thenational finals in 1994 and Santa Clara hosted in 1996.
 
“San Diego is rich in soccer tradition and we are confident given our partnership with the San Diego Sports Commissionthat this will be highly talked about and exciting event for the entire community,” said USD Executive Director of Athletics Ky Snyder.
