Your ranking system is a complete joke. How does a team that was 1-2-2 who was somehow ranked 23 with just one win in five games then jump up to 14 by winning just one game. Why not just put them in the top ten. Like I said this is a joke
Got to agree with Michael, especially since Clemson dropped from 4th to 15th on a 6-1-0 record!
Coastal Carolina who’s beaten 3 ranked teams and has losses to UNC and Charlotte are only ranked 18th. While VCU, who they beat, is ranked 10th, come on?
Which 3 top 25 teams did Coastal beat? VCU and who? VCU has wins over #9 Akron, #14 Maryland and a draw with #20 New Mexico. Their 2 losses were vs #17 UAB and #18 Coastal Carolina.
Polls are fun and cute, but what really matters is the Trnm and College Cup.How is UConn still rated so high after losing to unranked Bradley at home? And Maryland? Agree with the others – SA poll seems screwy.
Assume that the top 15 teams are essentially equal in ability (on any given day they could win a game against another top 15 team) Then simply looking at current winning percentages, here is the rank:1)California .9172)Cal State N .8753)Clemson .8573)Northwestern .8573)Washington .8574)Creighton .8335)Georgetown .7505)North Car .7505)Notre Dame .7506)Akron .7146)St John .7147)UCLA .6438)UConn .5838)VCU .5839)Maryland .500There are glaring outliers from the SA ranking, e.g North Carolina and Notre Dame should NOT be in the top 5, whereas Clemson and CSN should be; Maryland looks very suspect for the top 15, and so on.
Appears to be allot of parity but soon College Soccer Polls will need to be more technical with schedule strength , conference games vs non conference games, pre season tournament wins, etc etc. The way its set up now … it really doesn’t matter. Indiana isnt even ranked right now after 3 OT losses to 2 of the teams that are now ranked. And the team they have is possibly better than the team they won # 8 with last year. Again, it doesnt matter until the end when seeding takes place for the College Cup.
