In 2018, Kobe Bryant, at the  Aspen Institute’s Project Play Summit, shared his soccer history, as well as insights on coaching and parenting. Skye EddyBruce  of  SoccerParenting.com attended and reported: “My favorite paraphrase from the interview: My coaches gave me the cake, I put the icing on it.” Bryant was born in Philadelphiain 1978. He was introduced to soccer and embraced it while living in Italy for 8 years as his father was playing in Lega Basket Serie A. Bryant died on Sunday in a helicopter crash. The mourningextends well beyond the basketball world.
