[WORLD CUP COUNTDOWN] Brazil, the co-favorite with Spain to win the World Cup, played its first international match since March on Wednesday and easily beat host Zimbabwe, 3-0, on goals by Michel Bastos, Robinho and Elano in a span of 15 minutes either side of halftime.
Brazil got a scare when Inter Milan goalie Julio Cesar had to leave the game with a back injury. He was replaced by Tottenham's Heurelho Gomes.
In other World Cup games, Paraguay beat fellow finalist Greece, 2-0, while Honduras and Serbia were held to 0-0 ties by Azerbaijan and Poland, respectively, in Austria.
