"I have to listen to my heart, and right now my gut says to get away for a while. I had a really nice moment where my sister … got to come down on the field and [the baby] was sleeping on her, and it sort of puts it all in perspective and makes me realize I want to be closer to my family for a while and then figure out the soccer later.”

-- Landon Donovan, not necessarily talking retirement but confirming he was to take a break from soccer, after the Galaxy's 3-1 MLS Cup win over the Houston Dynamo. (ProSoccerTalk)

understandable thinking, we all can appreciate a break an family ties an what is missed in life when one takes a different path..we miss a lot , not being able to be in two places at once. We will miss Landon on the field, but,we all know that after a break, he will be back, it is in the blood..I believe that anyone who can play the game an is physically in good condition, will stay as long as they can...without pain...mho...so, take the well deserved break, then, get back in shape an get on with what you love....
