[MLS 2014 SUPERDRAFT] Fabio Pereira, the last player taken in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, signed with the Seattle Sounders for the 2014 season. Taken with the 76th overall pick, the 22-year-old Brazilian out of the University of Michigan is the only player picked in the fourth round to sign so far with an MLS team. For the lowest draft picks ever to play in MLS in the same season they were drafted.

Lowest Draft Picks in MLS:
PICK PLAYER (TEAM, YEAR), GAMES
101 Dustin Kirby (Real Salt Lake, 2007) 1 game
94 Leo Fernandes
(Philadelphia, 2013) 7 games
93 Jeff Larentowicz (New England, 2005) 1 game
92 Taylor Morgan (Toronto FC, 2013) 1 game
91 Devon McTavish (D.C. United, 2006) 5 games
91 Dan Gargan
(Colorado, 2005) 12
89 Antoine Hoppenot (Philadelphia, 2012), 25 games
89 Chris Wondolowski (San Jose, 2005) 2
87 Kosuke Kimura (Colorado, 2007) 4 games
86 Daniel Wasson (Colorado, 2006) 17 games
Note: MLS regular-season games in same (rookie) season selected in the draft.

Pereira was selected by the Sounders with an extra pick they were entitled to a pick in the Supplemental Draft (since dropped) they acquired from San Jose. (The LA Galaxy passed on its fourth-round pick.) He finished second on the team with two goals in the 2014 preseason, starting two of four appearances.

"Fabio is a young player who is skillful and has a nose for goal coming out of the midfield," said Sounders coach Sigi Schmid.  "He has good vision and desire. We are excited to add Fabio to our mix."
