U.S. World Cup hopeful Brian Ching kicked a ball in Houston Dynamo practice for the first time since he suffered a hamstring injury in the Dynamo’s homeopener and feels good about his progress, albeit slow.
“I’m still limited,” he said. “I still cannot swing my left leg with too much force right now. We’retwo weeks out. If you said I’d be running and doing all this when I first hurt it I would have been skeptical. I’m recovering pretty good. Hopefully, I can continue on this rate andI’ll be back sooner than I expected.”
Ching had been told by doctors he would be out 4-6 weeks, which would put his return up against the start of the USA’s final push for theWorld Cup.
