Inter Milan on Thursday accepted a bid worth a reported $13.2 million from Galatasaray for unsettled Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder. Now the Turkish giant needs to reach anagreement with the player for the transfer to go ahead.
According to Sky Sports, Sneijder is believed to be holding out for offers from bigger clubs, possibly Tottenham inEngland or Paris Saint-Germain in France. However, now that Spurs has signed Lewis Holtby from Schalke 04, a move to White Hart Lane looks unlikely.
In an interview withSky Italia, Inter President Massimo Moratti confirmed that the Galatasaray bid had been accepted, but “We would be happy if he decided to stay on our terms,” he added. Inter has askedthe Dutchman, who helped guide the Nerazzurri to UEFA Champions League glory in 2010, to accept a pay cut worth 2 million euros per year.
