[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] The Los Angeles Galaxy played to a 0-0 tie with Costa Rica’s Herediano on the road in the first leg of their Concacaf ChampionsLeague quarterfinal series. Herediano was awarded a penalty kick in the 87th minute, but Ismael Gomez smashed his shot off the crossbar. The result leaves theGalaxy in good position to qualify for the semifinals for the first time when it hosts Herediano Wednesday.
