Good morning! The second 47-team Leagues Cup kicks off this weekend with 15 games. The 2023 edition was boosted by the Inter Miami debut of Lionel Messi, spectacular in many ways as the Herons won the title. MLS teams claimed six of eight berths in the quarterfinals and three of four spots in the semifinals. In Year 2, likely without Messi, the competition will test the seriousness of Liga MX teams and their drawing power in markets with large Mexican communities.
