Manchester United is already facing a battle to keep the services of Adnan Januzaj, the 18-year-old winger who scored both goals on his debut in United’s 2-1 come-from-behindwin at Sunderland on Saturday, the Independent reports. Januzaj, a Beligian-Kosovan, could depart United at the end of the season in search of a bigger payday elsewhere, unless United cancome up with the right offer. According to the report, talks between United and Januzaj’s father had stalled following the retirement of Alex Ferguson at the end of lastseason.

“I gave Wayne Rooney his Premier League debut, and Ross Barkley, and Adnan is certainly up there with those players in terms of quality,”Manchester United coach David Moyes said of Januzaj’s performance at the Stadium ofLight on Saturday. “As far as debuts go, I would be surprised if even the great players in United’s past have shown such promise on day one. It wasn’t just the two goals, his whole game wasoutstanding. We know we’ve got a really special talent, but we’ll keep his feet on the ground. He’s going to be a top, top player but I had him in the reserves last week.”

The Guardian report adds that several countries will be vying for the boy’s services, as well:Januzaj qualifies for Belgium, Albania and Croatia.
