Luis Suarez was presented to the media on Tuesday following his Barcelona debut as a substitute in a friendly against Mexican club Leon, in which the Catalan giant thumped the Liga MX side,6-0. During his unveiling, the Uruguay international revealed that he “didn’t want to do anything” and “was very depressed,” following the biting incident involving Italy defenderGiorgio Chiellini at the World Cup in Brazil that initially saw him banned from all soccer-related activity for four months by FIFA.

Suarez, who was later granted permission to appearin friendlies and promotional events by the Court of Arbitration for Sport — thus enabling him to appear against Leon on Monday — added: “I decided that all I could do was accept reality and saysorry. I have apologized to people in Uruguay for what happened and I am now looking ahead. I hope the time goes quickly as I want to play again,” he said. “It is going to be difficult as I will haveto wait some months but I have accepted this.

The former Liverpool striker could make his competitive debut for Barca the weekend of Oct 25-26 against bitter rival Real Madrid. “It would begreat to play but it is down to the coach [Luis Enrique],” Suarez said.

During the presentation, vice president Jordi Mestre revealed that Barca paid 65 million pounds ($108.1million) for him.
