After two disastrous years in England, Brek Shea is back in MLS, signing with expansion club Orlando City.
Shea, who trained with Orlando City last summer, was a member of the 2011 MLS Best XI and finalist for the 2011 MLS MVP award, but he played just three games in parts of three seasons withStoke. Loan spells at Barnsley and Birmingham City didn’t work out, either.
He has 27 caps for the USA, earning Jurgen Klinsmann‘s favor early in the tenure of the national team coach before his lack of playing time and off-the-field issues took him out of the 2014 World Cup picture. Shea’s bigmoment came when he scored the winning goal in the 2013 Gold Cup.
