Arsenal defender Gabriel on Friday saw his red card rescinded and his three-game ban reduced to one game following his dismissal during last weekend’s 2-0 loss against Chelsea.According to the Guardian, the Brazilian center-back was handed a one-game ban for “improper conduct” relating to the manner in which he failed to leave the field immediately afterbeing shown a red card by referee Mike Dean. Arsenal had successfully appealed Dean’s decision earlier in the week, saying that the 24-year-old did not actually touch Chelsea strikerDiego Costa, whom Arsenal accused of provoking its defender into getting sent off. While Gabriel will miss Arsenal’s trip to Leicester City on Saturday, Costa will serve the second of histhree-game ban at Newcastle United.
