Mascherano makes case to avoid prison term

Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano appeared in Spanish court to make case why he should not go to jail after having admitted he committed tax fraud in 2011 and 2012 to the tune of $1.1million after failing to declare earnings  from his image rights by using companies he owns abroad. He has already paid the taxes and interest, and judge must rule whether the Argentine can payan increased fine to avoid jail.
