Willem II midfielder Anouar Kali became the first player to be red carded after video replay was used to determine whether his foul, deemed a yellow card, should be a red card in a Dutch Cupmatch against Ajax.
Kali was initially cautioned for for kicking Ajax’s Lasse Schone in the ankle, but the decision was changed within seconds into a red thanks to televisionassistance.
The Dutch Cup is one of the competitions in which video replays are being tested.
