The first FIFA international break of the calendar year falls just a few weeks into the MLS season, as teams go through the process of testing out new players and getting their systems of play squaredaway.
Last weekend was a chance for teams to regroup following the break, and several of them have already been hit by significant injuries or, in the case of Real Salt Lake, a shakeup of headcoaches.
