Results from a UCLA lab test performed on June 10 were negative for all five Mexican national team players, including goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and defenderFrancisco Rodriguez, suspended by their federation (FMF) after they tested positive for clenbuterol.

The FMF said the players have requested abackup “B” test of the initial samples taken May 21 that tested positive. They blamed the positive results, which occurred during a pre-Gold Cup training camp on the outskirts of Mexico City, oncontaminated meat. Mexican agriculture officials cast doubt on that argument, saying very few cases of contamination exist.

Playing short-handed, Mexico won its first three games at theGold Cup.
