Brendan Faherty left Yale after one year its women’s head coach, amid allegations regarding his relationship with two former femaleplayers — one of sexual misconduct and another of a consensual sexual relationship — at the University of New Haven, where he had coached a decade earlier. He was hired from Stony Brook Universityto replace longtime women’s coach Rudy Meredith, who resigned after last season and later accepted a plea deal for his part in the nationwide admissions scandal that rocked college athletics.Faherty’s departure followed a report in the Yale Daily News. Faherty’slawyers said their client denied the allegations.
