• D.C. United fined $25,000 for violating Diversity Hiring Policy. United violated the policy that the finalist pool for its vacant head coaching job (given to Wayne Rooney) include two or more candidates from underrepresented groups. While it met with two qualifying candidates, one of them revealed he was not available to pursue the job and the team did not follow up and interview an additional candidate from an underrepresented group.
