All but one of the 16 teams entered in the 2024 Copa America were in action during the March window.

The most impressive results were achieved by Brazil and Colombia, the two teams the USA will happen to face in June friendlies and the two teams that will most likely be the USA’s opponent if it advances to the quarterfinals.

The winner and runner-up from Group C (headed by the USA) will cross over and face the winner and runner-up from Group D (which features Brazil and Colombia).

Colombia has an unbeaten streak of 19 games following a 1-0 win at Spain (its first ever over La Roja) and 3-2 win over Romania.

Liverpool star  Luis Díaz was the most impressive player for Los Cafeteros in the Spain match, creating numerous chances, including the one put away by Daniel Muñoz for the winner.

Brazil beat England 1-0 and tied Spain 3-3 in friendlies.

Endrick, who will join Real Madrid in the summer after he turns 18, came off the bench and scored the winner against England and needed only five minutes after entering the match to score against Spain.

The Brazil results follow a poor start to World Cup 2026 qualifying, where the five-time world champions have started the marathon South America tournament with two wins, three losses and one tie in six matches, leaving it in sixth place. The three losses match the total number of losses Brazil suffered in the previous three qualifying tournaments combined (over 53 games).

Conmebol will send the top six teams to the 2026 World Cup. (The seventh-place team will enter the inter-continental playoffs.)

Uruguay, which the USA is expected to battle for first place in Group C, lost to African champion Ivory Coast 2-1 after tying a Basque XI 1-1.

Orlando City’s Facundo Torres started in the first friendly for La Celeste but was then released from international duty.
