The goal was Gomez’s sixth of the season — and fifth off the bench — in the Mexico’s Torneo Apertura. Jozy Altidore started for AZ in its2-2 tie at defending champion Ajax that kept it two points ahead of second-place FC Twente in the Dutch Eredivisie.
