While the Golden Boot race is dominated by imported players, FC Dallas homegrown center forward Jesus Ferreira’s decider in a 2-1 victory over Austin FC made him the youngest player — at 23 years and 139 days — to reach 50 MLS career goals.

The strike was the second of the season for Ferreira, who was sidelined for five of FC Dallas’ 12 games with muscle injuries. The win was FC Dallas’ third of the season and second in three games.
