Good morning! Olympic soccer will begin in less than two weeks in France with 16 teams competing in men’s soccer and 12 in women’s soccer. Eighteen have selected players based on teams in the United States, reflecting the growth of the American game. There will be a total of 74 U.S.-based soccer players at the Paris Olympics compared to 47 at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago. The U.S. teams include 30 pro teams and six college teams, including Penn State, whose Mohamed Cisset will play for Mali, making him the first player from the men’s college soccer ranks headed to the Olympics since 2012.
