Good morning! SA’s Andrea Canales profiles 20-year-old Californian Cade Cowell, the latest American attacker to move to Liga MX. The Chivas signing joins Alex Zendejas at Club America and Brandon Vazquez at Monterrey, giving a significant American presence to the attacks of three of Mexico’s big four teams. Unlike Zendejas and Vazquez, who were raised in border towns, Cowell hails from Ceres in California’s Central Valley and has admitted he did not have much of a connection to Mexico growing up except via soccer. But Chivas has relaxed its “Mexicans only” policy, paving the way for a player like Cowell, whose grandfather was born in Mexico, to move to Guadalajara.
