Good morning! The USA has played nine women’s international matches across Georgia, most famously the 1996 Olympic semifinals and final at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium in Athens, but Saturday’s match between the USWNT and Japan (see below) as part of a SheBelieves Cup 2024 doubleheader will be the first indoors at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the World Cup 2026 venue with eight matches, including a semifinal game. As of Thursday, ticket sales for Saturday were reported to be at 46,500. The target: a new USWNT record for a non-World Cup and non-Olympic home match. The record: 49,504, set Aug. 29, 2019, for a Victory Tour match against Portugal in Philadelphia.
