SA’s Germany-based Ian Plenderleith has enjoyed his stay in France, attending seven consecutive matches that ended in a three-goal margin of victory (four 3-0 games, three 4-1 games). The most special game, he writes, was the first half of the USA’s group game with Germany (3-1 at the break), which he says was one of the finest, most absorbing halves of soccer he’s seen in over half a century as a spectator.
