Good morning! The Olympics will be back in four years when Los Angeles hosts for the third time. Soccer was not a part of the 1932 Olympics — the only team sport was … men’s field hockey with three entrants — but the stunning success of the 1984 men’s soccer tournament was the inspiration for FIFA, until then lukewarm about the U.S. market, to push for the USA to host the 1994 World Cup. The only thing we know about plans for soccer in 2028 is both finals will be held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. France won the 1984 gold-medal game against Brazil before 101,799 fans at the Rose Bowl.
