Good morning! After Steve Trittschuh, with Sparta Prague, became the first American to play in the European Cup (what is now the Champions League) in 1990, it took more than 20 years for U.S. players to combine for 5,000 minutes in the world’s most prestigious club competition. American players logged 2,536 minutes during the 2023-24 competition. This season, American players have already combined for more than 3,000 minutes — and the knockout stage has yet to begin.
