Good morning! The USA faces Brazil today in Orlando with a lot at stake for a friendly game. Pride, for one thing. The Americans need a turnaround after their shockingly bad display in the 5-1 loss to Colombia. Brazil has won 18 of its 19 games against the USA. Recent meetings have been rather one-sided, but there was a time when USA-Brazil games were always one-goal games. Gregg Berhalter, the USMNT’s head coach, played in two USA-Brazil games, both of which took place at the old Confederations Cup and ended in 1-0 Brazil wins. In 1999, Berhalter, playing in midfield, had the highest mark in Soccer America’s Player Ratings of the two teams. In 2003, also a group stage match, his errant pass set up Adriano’s winning goal for Brazil.
