Good morning! The latest year added to the collection of Soccer America magazine issues in the LA84 Foundation digital library is 1997. The April 28, 1997, issue marked the debut of Más Fútbol, our bilingual edition. The first cover story: A “Cara a Cara” by Amparo Simon with Claudio Reyna. He said he only spoke Spanish growing up at home in New Jersey because most of his friends were Americans. But he added that “growing up in a Latin family has an effect because soccer is in the blood of almost every Latino. We talked about soccer everyday. If there was basketball, baseball or soccer on TV, we always chose soccer.”
