Good morning! The Columbus Crew’s reversal of fortunes against Mexico’s Tigres last night at El Volcán in Monterrey assures MLS of having at least one team in the semifinals of Concacaf’s top club competition for the eighth straight season. It’s also consolation for what has been a rough Concacaf Champions Cup campaign for MLS teams (Philadelphia’s 6-0 away loss to Pachuca and New England’s 9-2 aggregate defeat to Club América). But the biggest MLS vs. Liga MX match of the year will take place tonight when Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami faces Monterrey’s Los Rayados, who lead their series 2-1. A series around which lots of sharp words have been exchanged.
