Good morning! The USA opens play at the 2024 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Thursday in Dubai (6:30 a.m., ET, FS2, Universo) where it faces Italy. Arlo Moore-Bloom, one of SA’s most prolific writers in recent years, is our very own beach soccer national team player. On the very first day after his move from his hometown (our hometown) Berkeley to San Francisco, he discovered beach soccer at Ocean Beach. Within a couple of years, Arlo became good enough at beach soccer that he was called into a national team camp last fall in Fort Lauderdale.
