[SOCCER BUSINESS] The National Premier Soccer League has signed an agreement with Puma through the 2015 season to join the national amateur league’s preferredvendor program.

The agreement calls for Puma to be the preferred cleat (2014) and uniform supplier (2014 and 2015).

“NPSL is excited to welcome global brand Puma to thegrowing NPSL family of sponsors and partners, especially in a World Cup year where Puma teams will be showcased on the world’s biggest stage,” NPSL commissioner Michael Hitchcock said in a statement. “Through this partnership, over 80 NPSL teams and 2,000-plus NPSL players will have a chance to wear the same gear and cleats as the world’stop players.  Puma shares the NPSL’s commitment to growing the sport of soccer in communities all over the United States.”

The Puma Golden Boot Award will be given to theNPSL’s top goal scorer.  The Puma Player of the Game will be awarded during all playoff matches, while the Puma Power Rankings will replace the existing NPSL Top 20 Media Poll. Puma alsogets signage at playoff games and promotion on postseason webcasts. NPSL teams will also enjoy preferred pricing.
