Aguirre Named Japan Coach

Former Mexico coach Javier Aguirre on Thursday was appointed head coach of the Japanese national team, replacing Alberto Zaccheroni. The financial terms and the length of the dealwere not disclosed. Zaccheroni’s four-year spell in charge of the Asian champion ended last in Brazil when Japan finished last in Group D at the World Cup.
