The USA earned a 1-1 tie with the Dominican Republic that was enough to clinch first place in Group E at the 2026 Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers and booked a record 20th appearance at the Under-17 World Cup.
Malik Jakupovic‘s eighth goal in three games opened the scoring the 41st minute. The Dominican Republic equalized on Adiran Garcia‘s goal three minutes later but could not find the winner it needed to overtake the USA, which went into the game with the edge on goal difference (18-0 vs. 15-0).
