The win was the first by an MLS team in Concacaf play at the Estadio Azteca, which recently reopened after undergoing $150 million in renovations for the World Cup. The loss extended América’s winless streak to six games. Its USMNT star, Alex Zendejas, exited in the 80th minute, his scoreless streak now at eight games.
