1. Work on the Miami Freedom Park deal was placed on hold by Miami city attorney Victoria Mendez less than 24 hours after voters gavethe city the green light to negotiate with David Beckham’s Inter Miami CF group, which plans to build a soccer stadium and commercial development on a municipal golf course near Miami InternationalAirport. Mendez instructed city commissioners and employees not to communicate with the Beckham group while an ethics complaint was resolved. The complaint alleges Beckham and his partners wereregistered as lobbyists for a previous business entity — but not their current company for which they lobbied the city on behalf of the Miami Freedom Park project.
