[WAKE FOREST] D.C. United academy star Jalen Robinson, rated one of the top defenders in the Development Academy, andthree players from the Baltimore Bays, Michael Gamble, Ricky Greensfelder and AndrewHarris, head one of the best recruiting classes in Wake Forest’s program history. The seven recruits will join the Demon Deacons, who will not lose a single starter from last season’steam that reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
“We are very excited about this class,” said Coach Jay Vidovich. “Theyare a tremendously talented and special group. If they can adjust to the level of play and pace of the ACC, we think they will help bring us back to the top.”
Robinson, expected tocompete for a starting job in the midfield or at center back, may be the most high-profile recruit in Wake Forest history. He recently attended the U-20 national team training camp in January.
Gamble is a two-time NSCAA All-American and is rated one of the top forwards in the senior class.
Harris is expected to challenge returning senior Michael Lisch for immediate playing time in goal. Both his parents were collegiate soccer players at Yale.
