Mexican Coach Javier Aguirre says Italian referee Roberto Rosetti was upset at halftime with Rosetti’s assistantStefano Ayroldi, who missed the obvious offside on Carlos Tevez‘s goal in the 26th minute of Sunday’s Argentina-MexicoWorld Cup qualifier.

“Rosetti was upset when he came into the tunnel at halftime,” Aguirre said. “He was upset with him and the replay because it was evidence of his error. They acceptedthat they were wrong but they couldn’t do anything other than [say] ‘What can we do to make it up?’”

Aguirre blamed Mexico’s loss of composure — it gave up its second goal in the 3-1loss minutes later — on the fact that his players had seen on the replay that Tevez was clearly offside. “There was a lot of confusion for a few minutes,” he said, “and I think that got us out of ourgame.”
