Ajax, last season’s Europa League runner-up to Manchester City, faces a challenge to reach the Europa League group stage after a 1-0 home loss Norwegian side Rosenborg. Ajax was knocked out of theChampions League qualifiers by Nice and lost its Eredivisie season-opener to Heracles Almelo.
