Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri hailed the performance of center midfielder Andrea Pirlo, saying his team “deserved” its 1-0 win against AS Monaco in the first-leg ofthe UEFA Champions League quarterfinal series between the teams on Tuesday. Allegri said 35-year-old Pirlo was “decisive” in supplying the pass that lead to the penalty converted byArturo Vidal. Meanwhile, Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim called the penalty decision “a graveinjustice”, complaining that the foul on Alvaro Morata had occurred outside the box.
