Sebastian Berhalter assisted with a header in his first official game for Middlesbrough, 1-0 win over Wrexham in their first-round English League Cup win. Max Arfsten also started, despite training only twice since arriving from the Columbus Crew.
Berhalter, who arrived from the Vancouver Whitecaps, had scored a week ago in Middlesbrough’s final preseason friendly, a 3-3 home tie with Espanyol.
