Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti did not sound optimistic that midfielder James Rodriguez would recover from a calf injury in time to play some part in the FIFA Club World Cup, whichbegins for Real on Dec 16. When asked if Rodriguez will be fit for the tournament, which is being held in Morocco this year, Ancelotti would only say: “It’s difficult to recover from a calf injury.”Rodriguez, 23, will definitely sit out Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League game with Ludogorets as well as Friday’s La Liga against Almeria ahead of the trip to Morocco. The Colombian isexpected to recover in time for Real’s first game of the New Year on Jan 4 against Valencia at the Mestalla.
